About this policy

Monopoly Wealth Property Buyers (QLD licence 4540622) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and how you can access or correct it.

It applies to our website monopolywealth.com.au, our landing pages and forms, our Off-Market Network Facebook group, and any dealings you have with us by phone, email, SMS or in person.

We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on our website.

What we collect and how

We only collect what we need to help you buy, sell or connect with property on the Sunshine Coast and across Australia.

The information we may collect:

Name, email address, mobile number and postal address
Your role, for example buyer, seller, agent, mortgage broker or buyer’s agent, and the company you work for
Your property brief: budget, preferred suburbs, property type and timeframe
If you’re selling: the property address or suburb, your price expectations, your timeframe and whether you’ve chosen an agent
Finance status, such as whether you’re pre-approved (never your bank account or card details)
Notes from calls, Zoom meetings and emails with our team
Your answers to our Facebook group membership questions
Basic website and ad data, such as pages visited and which ad you clicked, through cookies and the Meta pixel

How we collect it:

Directly from you when you fill in a form, verify your mobile, join our Facebook group, call or email us, or meet with us
Mobile verification: when you join the Off-Market Network, we send a one-time code by SMS to confirm your number is real. This keeps the group to genuine members.
From others, with good reason: for example a selling agent, mortgage broker or referral partner who has introduced you to us, or public sources such as property sales records
Automatically through cookies and tracking tools on our website and landing pages. You can turn cookies off in your browser, but some forms may not work properly.

If you’d rather not give us certain information, that’s fine. It may just limit how much we can help.

How we use it

We use your information to:

Verify you and approve your membership of the Off-Market Network
Send you the Monday off-market list, market updates or your suburb pricing report
Find, assess and negotiate on properties for you
Connect sellers, buyers, agents and brokers where you’ve asked us to
Book and run Discovery Calls and strategy meetings
Meet our legal obligations, including real estate licensing and anti-money laundering checks
Improve our website, ads and services

We don’t sell your personal information.

SMS, email and marketing

We’ll only send you marketing by SMS or email if you’ve agreed to it, for example by ticking the consent box on our form. Service messages about your enquiry, such as a verification code or a confirmation that we received your application, are sent separately from marketing.

Every marketing message tells you who it’s from and how to stop it. You can opt out at any time:

Reply STOP to any SMS
Click unsubscribe in any email
Or contact us directly (details below)

We’ll action an opt-out within five business days. Leaving the Facebook group also stops group updates.

Who we share it with

We only share what’s needed, and only for the reasons above. We may share your information with:

Selling agents when we enquire about, inspect or negotiate on a property for you
Buyers, agents and brokers in the Off-Market Network, but only what you post or choose to share in the group
Our broker partners, if you ask for help with finance
Your own advisers, such as your solicitor, conveyancer, accountant or building and pest inspector, when you ask us to
Service providers who help us run the business, such as our CRM and SMS platform, email, website hosting and advertising tools (including Meta). They may only use your information to provide their service to us.
Regulators, courts or law enforcement where the law requires it

Some of our service providers store data on servers outside Australia, for example in the United States. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure your information is protected to a standard similar to Australian law.

Other websites: our pages may link to other sites, such as Facebook or realestate.com.au. Their privacy policies apply once you leave our site.

Keeping it safe, and your rights

Security. We store your information in secure, password-protected systems and limit access to our team. When we no longer need it, and the law doesn’t require us to keep it, we delete it or remove anything that identifies you.

Access and correction. You can ask to see the information we hold about you, or ask us to fix anything that’s wrong. Contact us and we’ll respond within 30 days. In rare cases the law may let us refuse access; if so, we’ll tell you why.

Complaints. If you think we’ve mishandled your information, contact us first and we’ll try to sort it out within 30 days. If you’re not happy with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
